We are looking for an established Pharmacy Benefits Manager as a Service Provider to provide the best medical care available is provided at the earliest indicated time accompanied by all appropriate indemnity benefits with the fiduciary responsibility to minimize medical and indemnity expenditures. 

The PBM service provider is critical to achieving cost containment goals and demonstrates the ability to incorporate industry best practices in the area of Pharmacy Benefit Management. 
Best practices shall include the ability to provide the following:
  • Process and adjudicate prescription drug claims;    Incorporate the State of California formulary when released January 1, 2018;   
  • Offer customized formularies;  
  •  Present an extensive pharmacy network  
  •  Incorporate an aggressive program convert brand medications to generic;   
  • Provide portal access and training to the claims department;  
  • Extensive pharmacy usage and cost reporting outcome capabilities;
  • Complete State of California reporting requirements for all pharmacy services extended to City of Long Beach injured workers. 
Contractors who apply should consider the California workers’ compensation regulations and public-sector populations in formulating a description of services. 
Contractors should incorporate knowledge of civil service requirements as well as presumptive illness associated within safety personnel job categories.
